Multicaloric Materials integrated into Solid-state Heat Pump Devices

Within this context, our lab focusses on developing comprehensives scheme to develop anisotropic functionally graded magnetic heat exchangers (also known as regenerators) for multicaloric heat pump devices. The interdisciplinary study investigates both fundamental and applied aspects of the manufacturing process, including alloy design based on machine learning methods and development of novel additive manufacturing processing methods to 3D print computationally designed multicaloric regenerators with intricate geometries and advantageous architectures. Conceptual designs for magnetocaloric heat regenerators for refrigeration and power generation systems have also been developed.
