Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering, Virginia Commonwealth University, VA, USA Research Interests In my research, I am working in the area of using machine learning techniques studying about Multicaloric materials for refrigeration and |
thermomagnetic energy harvesting applications. The main objective of this project is to investigate the promising multicaloric materials that can be used for refrigeration and cooling applications. Going forward, I am working on using different additive manufacturing techniques to develop multicaloric heat exchange regenerators for modular integration in caloric device prototypes. The ultimate goal of this project is to develop Solid-state devices enabled with the “caloric” class of functional materials as an energy-efficient environmental-friendly alternative to conventional vapor-compression refrigeration & heat pump devices. My interest lies broadly in the area of computational analytical techniques, material characterization, processing, system designs, fabrication and additive manufacturing techniques.
Experimental and analytic Techniques:
·Material processing: Heat treatments processing, Arc melting.
·Characterization: Magnetometry (VSM, SQUID, Heat Capacity, Pressure Sensitive Measurements), X-ray Diffraction (XRD), X-ray Micro Computed Tomography (Micro CT), Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), Thermogravimetric Analyzers (TGA), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Energy Dispersive X-Ray Spectroscopy (EDS).
·Software: GSAS for Rietveld Refinement of XRD patterns, Highscore for XRD analysis, VESTA for crystallographic modeling, R studio software, Image J, OriginLab software.
Conferences and Presentations:
I got the opportunity to attend IEEE magnetic society summer school in 2019 and European School of Magnetism school in 2020. I have been a member of several prestigious organizations such as IEEE Magnetics Society (Intermag), European School of Magnetism, American Physics Society, Thermag IX International Conference on Caloric Cooling, Undergraduate symposium at VCU, Vertically Integrated Projects (VIP) where I presented my research work in their conferences.
